What Handoff is

Handoff is a tool for organizing your dog's care information and sharing it with a sitter through a private link. That's it. We help you write things down and keep them tidy. We don't provide the care itself, we don't screen sitters, and we're not a pet-sitting service.

Not responsible for the care

You choose your own sitter. What they do (or don't do) with the information you share is between you and them. Handoff isn't liable for missed meals, missed medication, injury, loss, or anything else that happens during a stay. Please pick sitters you trust, keep your instructions accurate, and stay reachable.

You must be 18 or older

Handoff isn't for children. By creating an account you're telling us you're at least 18 years old.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself and don't let others use your account. You're responsible for anything that happens under it. If you notice unusual activity, change your password and contact us.

Acceptable use

Handoff is for organizing pet care between real people. Don't use it to:

• Harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
• Upload content that isn't yours to share.
• Try to break, probe, or overload the service.
• Use it for anything illegal.

We can suspend or delete accounts that break these rules, without notice if the abuse is serious.

Your content

You own what you put into Handoff, your dog profiles, routines, photos, and notes. You give us the limited permission we need to store it and show it to the sitters you share links with. Nothing more.

No warranty

Handoff is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or fit any specific purpose. Don't rely on Handoff alone for time-critical care, please still tell your sitter important things directly.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Handoff and the people behind it are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months, which for most users is zero.

Ending your account

You can delete your account anytime from the account page. We can suspend or end accounts that violate these terms, or if we need to stop operating the service. If we end your account without cause, we'll try to give you fair warning.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [Governing Law Placeholder]. Any disputes will be handled in the courts located there. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.

Changes

If we update these terms, we'll change the date at the top and note anything material. Continuing to use Handoff after that means you're okay with the update.
